Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY: The Production Evaporator Operator is responsible for the safe operation of various machinery and equipment utilized in the manufacturing process. This role involves supporting upstream processing and participating in projects that include monitoring processes and conducting routine sample analyses. The operator plays a crucial role in ensuring that production aligns with established daily and weekly schedules.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Set up, monitor, and maintain production machinery and equipment.
  • Ensure continuous production flow by troubleshooting issues as they arise.
  • Conduct regular sampling, labeling, and testing of products every 30-60 minutes.
  • Maintain the evaporator while adhering to strict Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Perform inspections of evaporators, which may require climbing ladders and working in confined spaces.
  • Obtain necessary permits for confined space entry and demonstrate proficiency in Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) procedures.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: This position is situated in a manufacturing setting, which may involve exposure to chemicals and fluctuating temperatures. The role requires working the third shift from 6 PM to 6 AM and may necessitate overtime, weekend, and off-shift work as required.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A minimum of one year of relevant experience is necessary.
  • Ability to work independently while setting priorities and making informed decisions.
  • Familiarity with FDA regulations, Food and Plant Safety, and quality-related requirements.
  • Knowledge of production equipment and processes is essential.
  • Experience with ERP/MES/MRP systems is advantageous.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to lift repetitive weights of 50 to 60 pounds.
  • Climbing stairs and ladders is required.
  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking are necessary.
  • Repetitive bending, twisting, and kneeling may be involved.
  • Visual acuity is needed to read instructions and inspect products.
  • Ability to work in high-temperature environments is essential.
