Automotive Parts Specialist

Parts Consultant - BMW
The Sewell Family of Companies is in search of a Parts Consultant who is meticulous, driven, and possesses excellent communication abilities to meet our clients' parts requirements. In this role, the individual will serve as the primary liaison between the parts department and retail customers for the sale of automotive components and accessories. Success in this position hinges on the ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment. Clear communication with colleagues and clients is essential to achieving our objective of ensuring customer satisfaction and maximizing parts sales at the dealership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist all customers (both retail and service) in selecting necessary parts in a courteous, professional, and efficient manner.
- Inform customers about related part requirements and promotions, ensuring they are aware of the complete product range.
- Respond to phone inquiries, providing pricing information and additional details as needed.
- Retrieve and fulfill orders from inventory.
- Accurately record lost sales in the inventory management system.
- Prepare and price parts on customer invoices.
- Provide essential information for special orders to the inventory control clerk when a part is unavailable.
- Maintain the special-order parts inventory in an organized and tidy manner.
- Keep records of all special-order parts and notify the service advisor and customer upon receipt of these parts.
- Maintain a file for customer backorders.
- Verify will-call and backorder files weekly, returning items to vendors or restocking those not picked up or needed.
- Participate in conducting regular inventory checks.
- Assist in maintaining parts catalogs, pricing schedules, and other technical documentation and bulletins.
- Ensure the work area is clean, organized, and safe by properly storing loose stock.
- Perform additional duties and tasks as assigned by management.
- Maintain professional discretion at all times.
Qualifications:
To excel in this position, candidates must satisfactorily perform each job responsibility, possess a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record, complete a drug screening, background check, and fulfill all government I-9 requirements. A combination of education, experience, and training will be considered.
