Position Overview:
The Physician Assistant will be responsible for assessing patients, diagnosing conditions, and administering treatment under the guidance of an Orthopedic Surgeon. This role includes assisting in surgical procedures on designated days and providing care in the clinic on other days.

Key Responsibilities:
To excel in this position, the individual must effectively carry out the following essential duties:

1. Evaluate new, follow-up, and urgent care patients, develop treatment strategies based on assessments, and collaborate with the supervising physician as necessary.

2. Request and interpret diagnostic evaluations (e.g., laboratory tests, imaging studies).

3. Prescribe, dispense, and manage medications, orthotic devices, and other relevant treatments.

4. Execute procedures such as injections, aspirations, and the application and removal of casts or splints.

5. Address patient inquiries regarding postoperative care, medications, and coordinate with support staff to ensure a cohesive team approach.

6. Complete all documentation within 48 hours of patient consultations in the office.

7. Undertake additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:
The following qualifications are essential for successful performance in this role:

- An advanced degree with appropriate state licensure is mandatory.

- Recent graduates are welcome to apply; 1 to 3 years of relevant experience is preferred.

- Experience in orthopedics is advantageous.

- Proficiency in computer systems, particularly electronic medical records, is required.

- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential.

Additional Information:
This role requires a commitment of more than 40 hours per week, including attendance at routine meetings outside of standard business hours. Periodic travel between practice locations may be necessary.
