Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our team at Glens Falls Hospital. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare exam and treatment rooms, including instruments, supplies, and protective devices for exams and testing.
  • Greet all patients and visitors entering the office, communicating effectively with service areas and providers to manage patient and provider flow.
  • Register and discharge patients accurately, maintaining proficiency with clinical information systems and electronic medical records.
  • Obtain and document vital signs and measurements, gathering documentation from prior patient encounters and diagnostic tests to ensure completeness prior to provider visits.
  • Maintain stock supplies, clean and sterilize instruments in accordance with infection control and manufacturer recommendations, and establish appropriate referrals in a timely manner.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, GFH providers, and external providers to ensure appropriate care coordination, assist in resolving patient complaints or concerns, and perform specimen collection, including venous or capillary phlebotomy, according to established protocols.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a clinical or medical setting; 3 years of experience and experience in a physician office preferred.
  • Basic Life Saving (BLS) or obtain within 6 weeks of start.
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) preferred.
