Job Overview
Raleigh Radiology is seeking a skilled IT professional to fill the role of Healthcare Integration Specialist. This position involves designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining HL7 interfaces that enable seamless data exchange between various healthcare systems. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of HL7 standards, healthcare IT systems, and interface engines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Developing HL7 interfaces to ensure smooth communication between healthcare systems, such as EHRs, EMRs, RIS, and PACS.
  • Configuring, implementing, and supporting interface engines like Iguana, InterSystems, Mirth, Cloverleaf, or Rhapsody to facilitate data flow according to HL7 standards.
  • Troubleshooting HL7 interfaces to resolve issues and ensure accurate, reliable data transmission.
  • Data mapping and transformation to validate healthcare data between disparate systems, adhering to HL7 messaging protocols and standards.
  • Maintaining detailed technical documentation of interface designs, configurations, and processes.

Requirements
The successful candidate should hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Healthcare Informatics, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). They should also possess 3+ years of experience in HL7 interface development or healthcare IT integration. Additional requirements include strong expertise with HL7 version 2.x and/or 3.x standards and messaging formats, hands-on experience with interface engines, and familiarity with healthcare data formats such as CDA, CCD, and HL7 FHIR.

Estimated Salary Range: $120,000 - $160,000 per annum, depending on location and experience.
