Job Title: Natural Resource Specialist 3

We are seeking a highly skilled Natural Resource Specialist 3 to join our team at the Oregon Department of Agriculture. As a key member of our Pesticides Program, you will play a critical role in ensuring the certification and training materials and processes for pesticide applicators and users are up to date and compliant with state and federal laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain certification and training materials for pesticide applicators and users
  • Review and analyze exam data and materials to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to develop educational materials using various media
  • Assist in the review of pesticide recertification events for accreditation
  • Provide excellent customer service to staff of federal, state, and local agencies, as well as pesticide users
Requirements:
  • Three years of experience in natural resources, with at least one year at a technical or professional level
  • Bachelor's degree in a natural resource-related field, or six years of related experience
  • Current and valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to build relationships with customers through intentional engagement
  • Experience managing and analyzing datasets using statistical methods
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
