Job Summary

Colorado State University is seeking a skilled HVAC Technician to join our team at the Mountain Campus facility. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise in the areas of HVAC equipment, boilers, and commercial kitchen equipment. This is a seasonal position from May 1st through October 31st.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and repair HVAC and refrigeration equipment, including large/small HVAC supply and return air handling units, unit heaters, fan coil units, fluid handling pumps, air compressors, control air dehydration and filtering systems, forces air heating/cooling units, boilers, piping systems, and related electronic interfaces.
  • Develop, implement, perform, and plan preventive maintenance programs.
  • Prioritize future work necessary and prepare schedules for preventive maintenance using a variety of computer programs.
  • Coordinate and assist the work of university-approved subcontractors to provide oversite and mechanical-related services when outsourcing is necessary.
Requirements
  • Valid driver's license or ability to obtain one by the position start date.
  • Five years' experience in an occupational field related to the work assigned to the position.
  • OR substitution for work experience on a year-for-year basis with degree or completed coursework from applicable trade school, university, or college.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Universal EPA Certification.
  • Advanced HVAC and/or refrigeration experience within a university, school district, commercial campus, or other similar environment.
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience maintaining, repairing, and trouble-shooting high-efficiency boilers.
  • Experience maintaining, repairing, and trouble-shooting commercial kitchen equipment.
  • Experience maintaining, repairing, and trouble-shooting HVAC systems.
