Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Patient Care Technician to join our team at UPMC Jameson's 3200 Orthopedic and Surgical Unit. As a Patient Care Technician, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our patients and their families.

Responsibilities
  • Provide patient care including assisting with patient procedures and activities of daily living.
  • Assist with physical, respiratory, and cardiopulmonary therapies.
  • Provide feedback to the RN regarding patient care and report changes in patient status.
  • Perform the UPMC nursing core nursing assistant responsibilities, including ADLs, vital signs, and specimen collections.
  • Assist with phlebotomy, 12-lead EKG, and other advanced skills as needed.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Successful completion of UPMC nursing assistant or EIC training program.
  • Knowledge of body mechanics and transfer techniques.
  • Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing.
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Paramedic certification.
  • Completion of a basic arrhythmia course.
