Overview

Reporting directly to the Director of Information Technology, the Project Management Office Manager will oversee the planning, initiation, and execution of IT projects that are critical to the organization’s operational systems and functions. This role is pivotal in guiding technical teams, acting as a liaison between business and technology sectors, and ensuring that all project phases are meticulously planned with a comprehensive evaluation of business impacts at each stage. A key responsibility is to monitor project progress to guarantee that deadlines, quality standards, and budgetary constraints are consistently met.

Core Responsibilities

The essential functions of this position include:

  • Directing and coordinating the analysis, development, and implementation of IT projects throughout the organization.
  • Overseeing the progress of technical teams to ensure compliance with budgetary, scheduling, and scope requirements.
  • Organizing and prioritizing project timelines, funding, and staffing resources.
  • Maintaining continuous communication with various departments regarding IT requirements and operational strategies.
  • Providing necessary training to technical personnel in IT, project management, and business systems.
  • Supervising staff, ensuring adherence to organizational policies, and addressing any work-related challenges.

Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

Work Environment

The position will be conducted in a standard office setting utilizing typical office equipment such as computers.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Comprehensive understanding of business principles, strategic planning, and resource management.
  • Significant knowledge of customer service processes and assessments.
  • Advanced capabilities in system analysis and adaptability to evolving environments.
  • Ability to foster trust and collaboration within teams.
  • Strong analytical and reasoning skills to effectively resolve issues.
  • Proficiency in planning and managing team efforts.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, Public Administration, or related fields, along with a minimum of seven years of experience in IT project management, including at least two years in a supervisory capacity.

Substitution Policy

Graduate studies in relevant fields may substitute for non-specialized experience, and Project Management Professional (PMP) certification may replace one year of the required experience.

Promotional Criteria

  • One year of experience as a Senior Project Manager within the organization.
  • Civil service status as a Senior Project Manager.
