Job Summary

**Primary Objective of Position:**

To provide exceptional quality housekeeping services to enhance the overall guest experience by engaging with guests whenever one is in sight. Ensure cleanliness of guest floor corridors, foyers, stairwells, and guest rooms, and assist guests/colleagues whenever they are in need of help.

**Responsibilities and Job Duties:**

  • **Cleanliness and Maintenance:** Clean bathtub, toilet, sink, walls, mirrors, tiles, counters, and floor surfaces using cloths, mops, sponges, brushes, and/or cleaning agents by extending arms over head, bending, and stooping.
  • **Bed Making and Linen Management:** Strip and make beds, changing bed linens, which may require lifting bedspreads weighing a maximum of 40 lbs.
  • **Guest Service:** Respond quickly and efficiently to all guest requests.
  • **Room Preparation:** Make-up rollaway beds and cribs in a vacated room and notify housekeeping attendants for them to be properly stored.
  • **Vacuuming and Cleaning:** Vacuum public areas, including corridors and all hallways, and non-public areas (back of house).
  • **Storage and Organization:** Keep Housekeeping storage areas and butler pantries neat and secure.
  • **Dusting and Polishing:** Dust all furniture, pictures, drawers, window ledges, and shelves thoroughly.
  • **Amenity Replenishment:** Replenish amenities, linens, and supplies in guest rooms.
  • **Chemical Safety and Hazardous Materials:** Practice chemical safety rules and follow procedures for needles and other hazardous materials.
  • **Quality Control:** Ensure all collateral in rooms looks brand new.

**Special Skills Required:**

  • Ability to push and/or pull equipment weighing from 40 up to 100 lbs.
  • Ability to scrub and scour surfaces, extending arms over head to perform cleaning tasks, and work in confined spaces.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with other employees, as well as guests.
  • Knowledge of Forbes Standards and prior work in luxury properties preferred.
  • Ability to execute details of tasks consistently.
  • Ability to follow instructions, directions, and meet deadlines, including the thorough cleaning of a minimum of 11 credit rooms as specified by management.
  • Basic ability to comprehend English language sufficient to understand information such as labels and instructions and basic guest requests.

**Education and Experience:**

Any combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skill, and ability. Prefer some previous housekeeping experience.

**Physical Demands:**

  • Physical activities include kneeling, crouching, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, walking, talking, seeing, hearing, bending, handling, feeling, reaching, stretching, grasping.
  • Ability to work alone in an established routine.
  • Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Requires repetitive motion of the hands, wrists, shoulders, and back with repeated bending and stooping.
