Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Janitorial Specialist to join our team at Navy Exchange. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and organization of our designated areas.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain a high level of cleanliness and organization in assigned areas, including floors, hallways, and offices.
  • Operate heavy industrial cleaning equipment, including vacuum cleaners, buffers, and polishers.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as changing light bulbs, cleaning air vents, and disinfecting surfaces.
  • Remove stains and spills from various surfaces using specialized cleaning solutions.
  • Move heavy furniture, supplies, and equipment as needed.
  • Clean windows and doors, both inside and out.
  • May operate a motor vehicle for limited duties.
Requirements:
  • 6 months of experience performing cleaning tasks using industrial equipment.
  • Moderately heavy physical effort required, including lifting and moving objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
Working Conditions:

Indoor work environment with occasional exposure to strong cleaning solutions and electrical equipment.

This position is represented by the American Federation of Government Employees, Local 53.
