Job Overview:

LPL Financial Holdings, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Principal Network Architect to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, engineering, and operating our LAN/WAN and hybrid Data Center environments.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in network architecture, engineering, and operations, with a focus on cloud and data center technologies. You will work closely with our team to provide scalable, resilient, and secure networking solutions for LPL, our advisors, and their clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and engineer Data Center, Cloud, and LAN/WAN networking solutions
  • Configure and deploy on-premise and cloud-based networking technologies
  • Responsible for the network domain as part of our DR strategy
  • Wide area network design, deployments, and administration of MPLS, DIA, and SDWAN
  • Collaborate effectively with various teams within the organization
  • Troubleshoot and identify the root cause of issues and develop continuous improvement
  • Participate in an on-call schedule rotation

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of Data Center Core Network Engineering and Architecture experience in a Cisco-centric environment
  • Hands-on experience and engineering/architecture level expertise in Cisco ACI and switches such as Nexus 9000, 7000, 5000, and 2000 Switches
  • Advanced knowledge of Cisco Data Center design and implementation
  • Strong experience in Data Center migrations
  • Expert knowledge of dynamic Routing Protocols such as OSPF and BGP
  • Proven experience as a technical or people leader
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or similar field

Preferences:

  • Strong knowledge of network security, firewalls, and network segmentation
  • Cisco Certified Design Professional and/or Cisco Certified Network Professional Certification, but not required
  • Experience using network monitoring and logging tools such as SolarWinds, LiveNX, and ELK to perform periodic network performance and compliance analysis
  • Ability to shape strategic vision, transform, and lead without authority
  • Extensive experience working in large technology ecosystems with emphasis on integrating multiple externally facing high-scale, high volume, always-on mission-critical systems
