Principal Network Architect

LPL Financial Holdings, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Principal Network Architect to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, engineering, and operating our LAN/WAN and hybrid Data Center environments.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in network architecture, engineering, and operations, with a focus on cloud and data center technologies. You will work closely with our team to provide scalable, resilient, and secure networking solutions for LPL, our advisors, and their clients.
Responsibilities:
- Design and engineer Data Center, Cloud, and LAN/WAN networking solutions
- Configure and deploy on-premise and cloud-based networking technologies
- Responsible for the network domain as part of our DR strategy
- Wide area network design, deployments, and administration of MPLS, DIA, and SDWAN
- Collaborate effectively with various teams within the organization
- Troubleshoot and identify the root cause of issues and develop continuous improvement
- Participate in an on-call schedule rotation
Requirements:
- 10+ years of Data Center Core Network Engineering and Architecture experience in a Cisco-centric environment
- Hands-on experience and engineering/architecture level expertise in Cisco ACI and switches such as Nexus 9000, 7000, 5000, and 2000 Switches
- Advanced knowledge of Cisco Data Center design and implementation
- Strong experience in Data Center migrations
- Expert knowledge of dynamic Routing Protocols such as OSPF and BGP
- Proven experience as a technical or people leader
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or similar field
Preferences:
- Strong knowledge of network security, firewalls, and network segmentation
- Cisco Certified Design Professional and/or Cisco Certified Network Professional Certification, but not required
- Experience using network monitoring and logging tools such as SolarWinds, LiveNX, and ELK to perform periodic network performance and compliance analysis
- Ability to shape strategic vision, transform, and lead without authority
- Extensive experience working in large technology ecosystems with emphasis on integrating multiple externally facing high-scale, high volume, always-on mission-critical systems
