Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Code Enforcement Officer Trainee to join our team at the City of Louisville, KY. As a Code Enforcement Officer Trainee, you will assist in the inspection of properties to ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the inspection of properties to determine violations of applicable codes and standards
  • Document code violations and prepare reports
  • Participate in in-house training programs and field evaluations
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with property owners, occupants, and other stakeholders
  • Perform related work as required
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Six months experience in building trades, property management, fire science technology, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, or a related field
  • Must wear safety equipment as mandated by OSHA
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license
  • Must work a varied schedule
