About the Role

Join our team as a Licensed Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner at the University of New Mexico Hospitals, specifically within the COPE Clinic. This dynamic role offers a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment providing professional nursing care for patients with various psychiatric needs.

Job Summary

This position involves designing and implementing individualized care plans, administering medications and treatments, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care. You will be responsible for observing patient behavior, conducting assessments, and documenting data to facilitate informed decision-making.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Interview, examine, and assess the health status of psychiatric patients with cognitive, emotional, developmental, social, and behavioral disorders
  • Observe patient behavior, activities, and mental status; perform triage and crisis intervention
  • Write treatment plans; coordinate patient drug and procedure activities; administer medication and treatment
  • Chart and report observed symptoms, reactions, treatments, and changes in the patients' conditions
  • Educate patients and families on treatment regimens, management of side effects, and compliance with the treatment plans
Requirements
  • CPR for Healthcare/BLS Provider or Professional Rescuers certification within 30 days
  • RN licensure in New Mexico or reciprocal agreement
  • PREFERRED: Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing Certification (PMH-BC) within two years of hire
Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $85,000 to $110,000 annually, depending on experience. Additionally, you can expect a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
