POSITION SUMMARY:

As an integral member of the Finance team, the Corporate Finance Analyst will engage in comprehensive financial analysis to bolster the Company's strategic initiatives and operational effectiveness. This role offers significant interaction with executive leadership and collaboration with various departments, including Finance, Investor Relations, and Treasury. The Analyst will be pivotal in maintaining the Company's financial models and delivering insights that support business planning, competitive analysis, investor relations, and mergers and acquisitions.

Reporting Structure: The Corporate Finance Analyst will report directly to the Director of Finance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Corporate Finance and Planning:

  • Support the upkeep of the corporate three-statement model and conduct scenario analyses.
  • Execute valuation assessments of the company, focusing on net asset value.
  • Lead the preparation of presentations for management and the board.
  • Play a crucial role in equity and debt capital raising efforts.
  • Assist in managing the share repurchase program.
  • Conduct analyses for credit rating agencies.
  • Support the management of revolving credit facilities and related credit activities.
  • Perform ad-hoc analyses and projects for executive leadership and the board.

Investor Relations:

  • Contribute to the development of quarterly earnings materials, including press releases and investor presentations.
  • Conduct macroeconomic and industry-specific research and analysis.
  • Perform competitive analysis and peer benchmarking.
  • Engage with equity research analysts and investors.
  • Assist in managing the company website.
  • Support Corporate Responsibility initiatives and related disclosures.

Mergers & Acquisitions:

  • Assist in evaluating potential M&A opportunities.
  • Conduct pro forma valuations, accretion/dilution, and combination analyses.
  • Assess corporate impacts arising from M&A activities.

Treasury Functions:

  • Assist in cash flow forecasting activities.
  • Prepare treasury reports for executive review.
  • Support daily treasury operations as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field.
  • 2 to 5 years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Experience in investment banking, corporate finance, or accounting is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Detail-oriented, organized self-starter with a strong work ethic.
  • Team player capable of managing multiple projects and adapting to changing priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficient in complex financial modeling, including three-statement and valuation models.
  • Strong grasp of financial concepts and valuation methodologies.
  • Familiarity with the minerals and exploration & production sectors is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to collaborate with various departments across multiple locations.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This position is based in a standard office setting, subject to time constraints and dependent on collaboration with others. Occasional remote work may be required, including outside of regular hours or on weekends. Travel may be necessary as business demands.
