Job Title: Behavioral Health Specialist

Therapeutic Health Services (THS) is seeking a skilled Behavioral Health Specialist to join our team in Seattle. As a Behavioral Health Specialist, you will play a critical role in providing evidence-based, culturally appropriate, and compassionate behavioral health treatment, programs, and services to children, youth, and families with substance use and mental health disorders.

Job Summary

The Behavioral Health Specialist will be located at our Seattle branch and will work collaboratively with LIHI (Low Income Housing Institute) to improve the lives of those living in LIHI-operated tiny home villages. You will provide on-site brief intervention, de-escalation, and crisis management services, as well as recovery support to residents. Your goal will be to help make the villages safer places for all residents and support residents in their mental health and/or substance use disorder recovery.

Responsibilities
  • Provide on-site brief intervention, de-escalation, and crisis management services to residents.
  • Collaborate with on-site LIHI staff to respond to resident incidents and support resident compliance with Village rules and standards of behavior.
  • Offer individual and group counseling sessions to residents in the ideation phase.
  • Perform Mental Health intake evaluations and collect and process psycho-social data from residents.
  • Provide a warm handoff to THS staff for residents who wish to pursue formal Mental Health or Substance Use Disorder Treatment.
  • Ensure prompt, accurate clinical documentation, including treatment plans, progress notations, and discharge summaries.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in a social service field required.
  • Current Washington State Counselor credential or current professional licensure required. MHP credential preferred.
  • SUDP/T is a plus.
  • At least one year of experience providing counseling, case management, and group services to individuals and their families.
  • Previous experience working with homeless or unstably housed individuals is a plus.
  • Experience in working with multi-ethnic populations in outreach, de-escalation, crisis intervention, and conflict resolution skills.
