Key Responsibilities:- Must have a practical knowledge of theory, principles, practice, and techniques of asepsis to prevent the spread of infection.
- Must have a working knowledge of standard procedures for steam autoclaving, chemical sterilization, and High-Level Disinfection (HLD) systems.
- Must be able to interpret and record results of all sterilization tests.
- Must have a good working knowledge of surgical supplies, instruments, equipment, and their specific cleaning, sterilizing, and storage requirements.
- Must possess a broad knowledge of all types of surgical and clinical instrumentation.
- Certification as a Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) or higher by International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management (IAHCSMM/HSPA).
- Graduation from a nationally recognized CRCST training program with a minimum of 2 current years of documented work in the field.
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
