We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Research Scientist to join our Intuit AI/Tech Futures team. As a key member of our research team, you will be responsible for advancing the state of the art in artificial intelligence and machine learning.
Key Responsibilities- Lead research projects in AI and machine learning, with a focus on generative AI, deep learning, and optimization.
- Develop and apply cutting-edge AI and machine learning techniques to solve complex problems in fintech.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including designers, program managers, and researchers, to create new capabilities for current and future products.
- Mentor junior researchers and interns, providing guidance and support to help them achieve their goals.
- Engage with the academic and broader research community through publications, presentations, and collaborations.
- Work towards long-term ambitious research goals that align with Intuit's products and identify intermediate milestones.
- PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Statistics, or Applied Mathematics, with a focus on AI/ML/Data Science or equivalent work experience.
- 7+ years of relevant work experience post-PhD.
- Past experience leading a research or applied research team.
- Established track record of publication, with a focus on first-author publications in top-tier AI conferences.
- 10+ years of experience in conducting theoretical or applied research, with a demonstrated ability to define and drive research projects.
- Past experience disseminating new technical ideas to the larger scientific community through open sourcing, publications, and presentations.
- Experience with developing and debugging in Python with TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar frameworks.
- Deep technical expertise in machine learning, with hands-on experience in deep NLP architectures, neuro-symbolic AI, or robust and/or explainable AI.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with other team members, product technologists, and stakeholders.
