Position Overview
The incumbent is responsible for performing a variety of semi-skilled and routine food service tasks to support food preparation for the Recreation Department.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist in food preparation as a cook's helper for both regular menu items and banquet services.
- Set up food service areas, including counters and tables, ensuring proper arrangement for banquets and service stands with a variety of hot and cold foods.
- Operate cooking equipment such as grills and fryers under close supervision, adhering to specific instructions.
- Serve food in standard portions, utilizing cafeteria-style service.
- Prepare hot and cold sandwiches, breakfast items, and a selection of salads and beverages according to serving requirements.
- Maintain cleanliness by washing and sanitizing tables, chairs, and kitchen equipment, ensuring a hygienic dining environment.

Sanitary Practices
Exercise proper sanitary habits throughout all tasks. Report any unsatisfactory conditions promptly.

Operational Duties
- Operate a cash register as required.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- Ability to execute all tasks associated with food service operations.
- Competence in following both written and verbal instructions.
- Skill in working efficiently and neatly through multi-step processes.
- Familiarity with recipes and ingredient combinations for various food products.
- Knowledge of proper food handling techniques in compliance with sanitary regulations.
