We are seeking a highly skilled Policy Advisor to the Chief Medical Officer to join our team at the State of Alaska. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in shaping and implementing policies that promote the health and well-being of Alaskans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Function as an aide and advisor to the Chief Medical Officer, providing expert guidance on policy and program analysis.
  • Design, manage, and conduct policy and program analysis of Department of Health programs, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Participate in interagency meetings and collaboration with external partners, fostering strong relationships and driving policy initiatives forward.
  • Assist in preparing department recommendations for changes in legislation, regulations, and policy, ensuring effective implementation and impact.
  • Function as the Department of Health program co-manager in development of the Complex Care Program, driving innovation and excellence.
  • Prepare briefings, presentations, and materials for the Chief Medical Officer's internal and external meetings, ensuring clear and compelling communication.
  • Research, analyze, and synthesize information and data on a wide range of topics, preparing briefs, memos, and presentations to inform policy decisions.
