Position Overview:

As a Permanent Substation Technician, you will be a key player in our operations, ensuring the efficient functioning and maintenance of our substation apparatus. As a Permanent Substation Technician, your responsibilities will encompass:

2. Diagnosing and troubleshooting issues in substation equipment and systems.
3. Assisting in the installation and commissioning of new substation apparatus.
4. Collaborating with the engineering team to implement enhancements and modifications to substation equipment and systems.
5. Ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and industry standards in all tasks.
6. Responding swiftly to emergencies or faults within the substation.
7. Maintaining accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities.
8. Performing tests on substation equipment to verify proper operation.
9. Utilizing SCADA systems for monitoring and controlling substation equipment.
10. Offering technical support and guidance to fellow team members.

Qualifications:

To qualify for the role of Permanent Substation Technician, candidates should possess:

1. A minimum of 5 years' experience in a Substation Technician role or a similar capacity.
2. Demonstrated experience with SCADA systems.
3. A relevant technical qualification (e.g., Electrical Engineering) is preferred.
4. Strong analytical skills and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues in substation equipment and systems.
5. Excellent communication abilities, capable of simplifying complex technical matters.
6. A strong commitment to safety and a comprehensive understanding of industry standards and regulations.
7. The capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
8. A valid driver's license and willingness to travel as necessary.
9. The physical ability to perform demanding tasks, including lifting heavy equipment and working in confined spaces.
