CNC Programmer Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Programmer to join our dynamic team at Jobot. As a CNC Programmer, you will be responsible for developing, testing, and optimizing CNC programs using MasterCam software to drive efficiency and productivity in our manufacturing process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and modify CNC programs for 3, 4, and 5 axis CNC machines using MasterCam software.
  • Review and interpret blueprints, engineering plans, and geometric dimensions and tolerances to plan machining operations.
  • Setup, adjust, and operate CNC machines to perform diverse and complex machining operations.
  • Monitor output and ensure the accuracy of all production runs, making adjustments as needed to produce parts to specifications.
  • Collaborate with the engineering and production teams to understand work order requirements and to troubleshoot machining issues.
  • Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
  • Train and guide less experienced operators and machinists.
  • Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturer's instructions, and troubleshooting malfunctions.
  • Stay updated with latest industry trends, equipment, and best practices to continuously improve job knowledge and technical expertise.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a CNC Programmer in the engineering industry.
  • Proficiency in MasterCam programming for 3, 4, and 5 axis CNC machines.
  • Thorough knowledge of machine setup and CNC machine operation.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and engineering plans.
  • Strong understanding of geometric dimensions and tolerances.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex machining issues.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to train and guide less experienced team members.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe and productive work environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field preferred.
  • Certification from a technical school or trade association is a plus.
