Role Overview
In this position, you will report directly to a Buyer and share responsibility for a specific product category. Your role as an Assistant Buyer will involve supporting daily and seasonal operations to enhance business performance. You will ensure data accuracy, assist the Buyer with seasonal initiatives, and collaborate closely with various teams. This position offers the chance to thrive in a dynamic retail environment while being part of a cooperative team.
Work Arrangement
This role operates in a hybrid model, requiring in-office presence in San Francisco four days a week.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and manage all SKU data
- Oversee made-to-order items, visual merchandising, and product listings
- Liaise with the Merchandise team regarding project updates and sample statuses
- Assist in sample management by coordinating with photography and warehouse teams
- Input and update pricing and cost changes for direct-to-consumer and retail, collaborating with inventory and sourcing teams
- Work alongside the Buyer and Visual teams to design seasonal retail displays
- Generate reports and support the Buyer in identifying business opportunities
- Perform general administrative tasks as required
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- 1-2 years of experience in retail buying
- Strong analytical, strategic, and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects
- Excellent organizational skills
- Capacity to work independently across various initiatives
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Familiarity with sales reporting and business metric analysis
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, with experience in pivot tables and advanced formulas
