Hendrix College is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Public Safety Officer to join our team. As a Public Safety Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of our campus community.
Key Responsibilities- Patrol campus buildings and grounds to prevent or respond to incidents of theft, vandalism, fire, or other safety hazards.
- Ensure buildings are securely locked and unlocked as necessary.
- Conduct regular inspections of life safety equipment, including locks, lighting, fire extinguishers, and alarms.
- Report any safety incidents or unusual conditions to appropriate officials.
- Investigate complaints made by faculty, staff, or students.
- Assist local emergency services as needed.
- Provide public safety services, such as parking and traffic direction, crowd control, and event support.
- Issue traffic/parking violation citations and assist area police with investigations.
- Provide general information and directions to visitors.
- Prepare reports on public safety activities.
- High school education plus one to two years of security or law enforcement training or experience.
- Knowledge of first aid techniques and CPR certification.
- Familiarity with relevant laws and regulations.
- Basic knowledge of fire prevention.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to handle emergency situations calmly and efficiently.
- Demonstrated integrity and physical ability to perform job duties.
