Hendrix College is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Public Safety Officer to join our team. As a Public Safety Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of our campus community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patrol campus buildings and grounds to prevent or respond to incidents of theft, vandalism, fire, or other safety hazards.
  • Ensure buildings are securely locked and unlocked as necessary.
  • Conduct regular inspections of life safety equipment, including locks, lighting, fire extinguishers, and alarms.
  • Report any safety incidents or unusual conditions to appropriate officials.
  • Investigate complaints made by faculty, staff, or students.
  • Assist local emergency services as needed.
  • Provide public safety services, such as parking and traffic direction, crowd control, and event support.
  • Issue traffic/parking violation citations and assist area police with investigations.
  • Provide general information and directions to visitors.
  • Prepare reports on public safety activities.
Requirements
  • High school education plus one to two years of security or law enforcement training or experience.
  • Knowledge of first aid techniques and CPR certification.
  • Familiarity with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Basic knowledge of fire prevention.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to handle emergency situations calmly and efficiently.
  • Demonstrated integrity and physical ability to perform job duties.
