Job Title: Physician - Board Eligible – Admissions - Hourly - GRHA
Job Summary:
As a key member of our healthcare team, the Physician - Board Eligible – Admissions - Hourly - GRHA will provide comprehensive medical services to patients, including examining patients, diagnosing conditions, and providing treatments. This role will also involve directing nurses, aides, and other healthcare professionals in the care and treatment of patients.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and direct staff to ensure high-quality patient care
- Refer patients to medical specialists or other practitioners as needed
- Advise patients on healthcare, including health promotion, disease prevention, and illness management
- Coordinate work with nurses, social workers, rehabilitation therapists, pharmacists, psychologists, and other healthcare providers
- Direct and coordinate activities of nurses, students, assistants, specialists, therapists, and other medical staff
- Examine patients, take their histories, order laboratory tests, X-rays, and other diagnostic procedures, and consult with other medical practitioners to evaluate patients' physical and mental health
- Prescribe or administer treatment, therapy, medication, vaccination, and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness, disease, or injury
- Provide emergency medical care
Qualifications:
- Medical degree recognized by the Georgia Composite Medical Board (GCMB) and licensure or license-eligible to practice medicine at a state institution or in the state of Georgia as provided by state law. Physician must be Board Eligible.
- FOR THIS TYPE OF EMPLOYMENT, STATE LAW REQUIRES A NATIONAL AND STATE BACKGROUND CHECK AS A CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification by the American Board of Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
- Experience in treating persons with serious and persistent medical illnesses, and in providing care as a leader and member of an interdisciplinary treatment team
- Experience working with consumers in adult mental health, addictive disease, and forensic psychiatry
