Job Summary:

Amentum is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to serve as a Security Operations Intern in the Washington DC/Northern VA metro area. This role will provide administrative support to the operations management team overseeing large security programs in support of the intelligence community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support to the operations team with projects and programs, including data collection and analysis.
  • Prepare and provide high-quality reports to the program team on a regular basis.
  • Assist with project coordination, including travel arrangements, scheduling, and logistical support.
  • Oversee and assist with employee onboarding, scheduling, time-cards, and other inquiries.
  • Facilitate a culture of continuous process improvement among the team, providing resources and collaborating to implement streamlined and compliant processes.
  • Accountable for day-to-day programmatic and administrative tasks.

Requirements:

  • Strong customer service skills and ability to work closely with program team and senior-level personnel.
  • Organized, meticulous, and analytical with experience in short and long-term project execution.
  • Ability to work effectively under stress and pressure, manage workloads effectively, and prioritize tasks based on considerations of safety and mission importance.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop solutions to problems of unusual complexity.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Security clearance if required, and be a US citizen.
  • Must be local to the Washington DC/Northern VA metro area.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Graduated with or currently obtaining a degree in Criminology, Emergency Management and Homeland Security, Intelligence Studies, International Security, or similar areas of study.
  • 0-1 years of work experience in a role requiring administrative skills.
  • Willing to travel to corporate offices 2-3 times a month.
