Holy Name Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health Information Management (HIM) Supervisor to oversee the daily medical records coding operation.
Key Responsibilities- Identify and code patients' discharge records for reimbursement, research, and statistics in compliance with federal regulations, using diagnosis and procedures on all inpatient and outpatient accounts.
- Oversee all aspects of outsourced coding, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Monitor and assess the Daily Not Final Billed (DNFB) report on a daily basis, identifying areas for improvement.
- Review Diagnosis-Related Group (DRG) assignments for selected inpatient accounts, Healthcare-Associated Conditions (HAC), Patient Safety Indicators (PSI), and Healthgrades target diagnoses for reimbursement, research, and statistics in compliance with federal regulations, using ICD-10 and CPT 4 classification systems.
- Collaborate with the Clinical Data Management and Processing (CDMP) team, providing coding expertise and education.
- Assist with education sessions for HIM coders, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties accurately.
- High School Diploma required; Bachelor's Degree in a healthcare-related discipline preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of coding experience required; 1-3 years of supervisory experience preferred.
- Coding proficiency in inpatient and outpatient settings (high proficiency).
- CCS-Certified Coding Specialist upon hire required or equivalent experience.
