Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver Exceptional Customer Support:
- Welcome clients, manage incoming and outgoing calls, provide necessary information, or guide clients to the appropriate department.
- Investigate customer accounts and supply relevant details.
- Process utility payments and record them in a computerized accounting system.
Manage Incoming Correspondence:
- Open and log mail, including checks, money orders, or other payment forms on billing stubs.
- Record mailed payments to customer accounts.
- Reconcile checks and payment receipts to prepare daily financial summaries and deposit information.
- Return checks with missing or incorrect information along with a written explanation for the return.
Open and Close Utility Accounts:
- Initiate work orders for new and existing customer account activities.
- Process applications for new customers and provide helpful service information.
- Document name and status changes for accounts.
- Facilitate payment arrangements for overdue or special requirement accounts.
- Collect information to finalize accounts and inform customers of their last billing.
- Record customer reading details when assigned and manage customer interactions to ensure positive communication.
Create and Maintain Customer Files:
- Establish and organize new applications, general and specific business files, forms, and records for the district.
- File letters and other correspondence related to district operations.
- Maintain customer files in an orderly manner.
- Keep the workspace organized to support efficient operations.
Qualifications:
- Bilingual proficiency required.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
- Ability to pass a background check.
- High school diploma or equivalent is necessary.
