Speech Language Pathologist

Overview
Nationwide Children's Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our team. As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will play a critical role in evaluating and treating patients with communication disorders, including those with hearing impairments. We are looking for a candidate with expertise in total communication, aural rehabilitation, and language acquisition.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients with varied diagnoses to determine developmental and/or functional status using standardized measures or clinical observations.
- Administer therapeutic treatment to patients with developmental delay or functional deficits to provide optimal development, function, and independence.
- Educate patients/parents/caregivers on treatment goals and therapy plan, and instruct them on therapeutic activities to follow at home.
- Document patients' evaluation results, objective status, progress towards goals, treatment plan, and recommendations in compliance with documentation requirements.
- Communicate patient's status and collaborate with physicians, third-party payors, and relevant healthcare providers.
- Participate in Evidence Based Practice, maintaining active knowledge of peer-reviewed literature and implementing this information in best clinical care.
Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology, required.
- Valid Ohio License in Speech Pathology, required.
- Certification in Speech Pathology from the American Speech Language Hearing Association, or eligible for supervision by a certified speech-language pathologist during a fellowship experience, required.
