About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Certified Medication Aide to join our team at Kensington Healthcare Center, a member of the CommuniCare Family of Companies. As a Certified Medication Aide, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality resident care and ensuring the well-being of our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer medications in accordance with physician's orders and state/federal regulations.
  • Display knowledge of medication side effects, interactions, and nursing implications.
  • Account for controlled drugs and report any discrepancies.
  • Chart routine medications, medication omissions, and documentation of PRN medication given.
  • Maintain inventory of medications and prepare monthly medication records.
  • Provide personal care and treatment functions for residents.
  • Perform basic nursing care functions as required.
  • Create a clean, comfortable, and safe environment for residents.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or G.E.D. equivalent.
  • Graduate of an approved Nurse Aide Training Program.
  • Certification as a CMA in the State of Maryland.
  • Understanding of medication administration procedures and successful completion of a state-approved training course.
  • Ability to perform basic math functions.
  • Understanding of resident care procedures and standards.
