About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer - Modeling and Algorithms to join our team at Peraton. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing digital systems, algorithms, and simulations to support our customers' mission-critical needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Algorithm Design and Development: Design, develop, and modify software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcomes and consequences of design.
  • Simulation and Modeling: Conduct research in design, testing, and utilization of software and data processing algorithms used in ASE products. Work with vendors to understand algorithm design, implementation, and testability.
  • Collaboration and Liaison: Liaison with outside Subject Matter Experts on algorithm performance. Work with test team to validate and understand field data using a DSM and simulations.
  • Documentation and Review: Create, maintain, and review Algorithm Description Documentation (ADD). Review vendor algorithm design and deliverables.
  • Automation and Scripting: Create scripts and tools to automate or assist in testing (e.g., modifications to the DSM or other test tools).
Requirements
  • Education: Minimum of 12 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 10 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 7 years with Ph.D.
  • Clearance: Active Secret clearance.
  • Technical Skills: Understand a DSM or simulation creation, execution, and use in system performance modelling. Have knowledge ML methodologies and implementation. Be fluent in the Microsoft Office toolset. Understand and be fluent in C, C++, and Python.
  • Soft Skills: Be able to work in a dynamic team environment while balancing various priority tasks. Be able to work from the customer facility on a regular basis.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience: Have experience working in a DoD acquisition project management office. Software or systems design for DoD systems is a plus.
  • Background: Have a background in modeling, simulation, algorithm design or test, data science/analysis, or machine learning.
