Job Title: Artistic Director

Spotlighters Theatre is seeking an Artistic Director to lead our team in a time of growth and innovation. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing the artistic vision and focus of our theatre.

Responsibilities:
  • Recruit, oversee, and support artistic personnel, including directors, performers, designers, and stage managers.
  • Oversee all artistic productions, including plays, musicals, cabarets, fundraisers, and special events.
  • Assess needs of each production with respect to requirements for theatre purchases and changes to the physical space.
  • Design, implement, and evaluate workshops and classes in theatre disciplines, with a focus on educational programs.
  • Oversee auditions and related activities.
  • Keep current with play literature, both local playwrights and national published works.
  • May direct at least one production per season.
Requirements:
  • 6 years of combined education and experience in theatre, arts administration, or a related field.
  • Experience in producing theatre, including budgeting, play selection, hiring, casting, etc.
  • Strong people and communication skills, with the ability to adapt to sudden and unforeseen situations.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
