Job Overview

As a MEP Estimator at GrayWolf Integrated Construction Company, you will play a crucial role in producing accurate and detailed estimates for small and large complex projects. This will involve collaborating with various disciplines, including piping, boilermaker, steel erection, and millwright, to provide estimates that can be accurately interpreted and executed by our Pre-Construction team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and analyze blueprints, project specifications, and other documentation to prepare and estimate projects accurately.
  • Prepare detailed and accurate estimates for new projects and estimate prices for change orders on existing contracts, meeting assigned deadlines.
  • Prepare material take-offs, estimate labor and field erection, materials, equipment costs, and subcontractors to prepare a thorough bid estimate.
  • Collaborate with project team members to ensure building specifications are met.
  • Appraise and communicate potential risks and costs not fully captured in the estimate that may impact project costs.
  • Read and interpret job bid instructions, blueprints, and detailed specifications to prepare a thorough price estimate.
  • Be comfortable discussing alternative recommendations on projects where management requires alternative estimates to meet client needs.
  • Work directly with Sales and Pre-construction Teams to understand project size, scope, timelines, and deadlines.
  • Adhere to and follow GrayWolf estimating guidelines and procedures.
  • Enter estimates into our in-house computer program, including take-offs, drawing numbers, etc.
  • Interact with other key team members professionally.

Education/Training
High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred but not required. Prior construction estimating or supervisory experience required.

Work Experience
5+ years of industrial estimating experience with progression into a senior or management-level estimating role. Must have proven experience providing companies with accurate information to aid in achieving corporate goals.
