About the Role

Cabinetworks Group is seeking a highly skilled Senior System Administrator to join our team. As a key member of our IT infrastructure team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation, reliability, and security of our network services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain VMware environments, including installing new hosts, performing VCenter and ESX upgrades, and implementing storage and network changes.
  • Administer and manage Citrix XenApp/XenDesktop environments, including keeping Citrix infrastructure components up to date and troubleshooting performance issues.
  • Manage Windows Server environments, including keeping servers patched and up to date using MECP (formerly SCCM) or other tools, and building and deploying new servers on premise and in Azure.
  • Manage SQL Server environments, including performing maintenance tasks, backups, restores, index maintenance, and user security.
  • Maintain and optimize DHCP, DNS, and Active Directory to guarantee high availability and reliability.
  • Independently manage and execute significant software and hardware upgrades, ensuring current technological environments.
  • Provide expert-level support and troubleshooting for complex issues across systems and network services.
  • Implement and oversee security measures, including the application of updates and patches, to safeguard against vulnerabilities.
  • Develop comprehensive training materials and conduct engaging sessions tailored for end-users to ensure their proficiency in using our IT systems and services.
  • Lead IT infrastructure projects from inception through to successful completion, overseeing all aspects of project management, including planning, execution, monitoring, and closure.
Requirements
  • VMware expertise, with a strong understanding of virtualization technologies.
  • Citrix XenDesktop/XenApp expertise, including building new apps, keeping template servers up to date, and updating infrastructure servers.
  • Network services management and fundamentals, including DHCP, DNS, and Active Directory.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities, with exceptional capability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues swiftly.
  • Effective communication and training skills, with excellent ability to communicate complex technical information clearly to non-technical staff.
  • Project management and leadership skills, with a strong track record of successfully leading IT projects.
  • PowerShell knowledge, with comfort using PowerShell to make changes and automate tasks.
  • Linux knowledge, with familiarity with Linux and ability to do basic navigation using a Linux shell.
  • Windows RDS/Remote App administration experience.
  • Active Directory/Group policy administration experience.
  • SQL Server management experience, including maintenance plans, backups, restores, installs, updates, and security administration.
