Job Summary

As a Senior Systems Administrator at Fairfax Water, you will be responsible for performing advanced system administration work under limited supervision. Your primary focus will be on operating and supporting the company's large-scale ERP software platforms through the implementation of best practices. This includes installing, configuring, patching, upgrading, and maintaining proprietary technologies. You will also be responsible for planning and coordinating the change management of processes required for the support of systems necessary for business operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate, install, configure, and deploy SAP ERP applications, SAP systems software, SAP products, and/or enhancements to existing SAP applications throughout the enterprise.
  • Ensure that SAP ERP software meets business requirements and goals, fulfills user requirements, and identifies and resolves systems issues.
  • Develop and oversee the technical change management process across the organization in all affected areas.
  • Collaborate with IT and end-user staff in the testing of SAP ERP software/application(s).
  • Ensure that applications deployment enhances operating systems, networks, telecommunications, or other areas where it is deployed.
  • Recommend any additional hardware or software needed for successful solution deployments, configuration, or maintenance.
  • Perform daily monitoring and troubleshooting of SAP ERP software solutions.
  • Install and configure patches and upgrades as required.
  • Liaise with software, hosting partners, and other vendors for prompt rectification of problems or emergencies.
  • Coordinate feasibility studies for software products under consideration for purchase, and give advice based on findings.
  • Liaise with other technical support staff to assist with design specifications, program logic, and data conversions.
  • Troubleshoot in order to identify potential problem areas, and make the appropriate recommendations.
  • Create and maintain accurate documentation for all systems and projects supported by ERP Technical Solution team.
  • Deliver projects on time and within budget that meet or exceed original requirements.
Requirements
  • Possession of an associate's degree in computer science, or related field and 10 (10) years' experience in direct user, network, enterprise application system administration and/or telecommunications or any equivalent combination of education, experience, training and knowledge.
  • A comprehensive knowledge base that spans the following and that demonstrates in-depth and specialized knowledge in several areas of Systems Administration of SAP application(s):
  • System administration and management of enterprise SAP applications
  • Management of Middleware programs and SAP Bolt-on or third party tools such as SecurityWeaver, BSI TaxFactory and EPI-USE that link applications with databases, operating systems, and network architecture and that enable applications to be interoperable across operating systems
  • HANA database administration.
  • User authorizations and SAML authentication and SSO concepts
  • Enterprise server(s), storage, and network security
  • Must have working experience with the following SAP products/applications.
  • SAP S/4HANA
  • SAP HANA
  • SAP Solution Manager
  • Adobe Document Services
  • SAP Web Dispatcher
  • SAP Service Cloud

  • SAP CPIS (Integration Suite)

  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Must pass a controlled substance (drug) test for employment.
  • Must be willing to be onsite 3 days a week.
