Job Summary

The Energy Management Systems Technician will play a crucial role in supporting the installation and commissioning of power monitoring devices, ensuring the upkeep and maintenance of electrical power monitoring systems. This individual will work to minimize operational costs and collaborate with team members to improve efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the planning and implementation of load balancing activities
  • Audit electrical engineering drawings
  • Develop and implement new ideas and solutions to ensure operational efficiency
  • Install, configure, and maintain electrical power monitoring systems and databases
  • Provide remote support to external sites as needed
  • Travel and assist with planning and oversight of EPMS deployments at Switch site expansions
  • Assist with project managing special projects and installations from start to finish
Requirements
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to express ideas clearly, concisely, and effectively
  • Ability to analyze and make suggestions for problem resolution
  • Ability to solve problems with good initiative and sound judgment
  • Make decisions independently with minimal guidance
  • Have an understanding of electrical systems in a data center environment
  • Have a strong background in mechanical, electrical, or computer science theory
  • Have an understanding of safety requirements required while operating a multi-megawatt facility
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification in electrical or electronics engineering
  • College degree in electrical or electronics engineering
  • Minimum 4 years' experience troubleshooting electrical and/or communications equipment
