About the Role

Cox Automotive is seeking a highly skilled Diesel Mechanic II to join our Fleet Services team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing certified DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on a variety of fleet vehicles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform minor adjustments and repairs on various types of truck equipment, including electrical, brake, and cooling systems.
  • Participate in regularly scheduled safety training and remain up-to-date on safety protocols and procedures.
  • Document work performed, parts used, and findings observed on repair orders using company-issued devices and proprietary applications.
  • Communicate with management, team members, and dispatch to obtain approvals on repair estimates and discuss findings and notes.
  • Perform all work in compliance with organizational safety, health, and environmental policies, as well as federal regulations.
  • Manage parts inventory and equipment on company-issued service trucks and perform periodic reconciliation.
  • Work with clients and customers to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve problems, or satisfy expectations.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2+ years of experience in heavy-duty diesel mechanics or a related field.
  • Ability to work independently and manage own daily schedule.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a fast-paced environment.
