As a Financial Forensics Specialist, you will elevate your accounting expertise with a leading global firm.
The selected candidate will apply accounting methodologies to gather, interpret, document, and scrutinize diverse data from various business sectors to aid in the assessment and quantification of commercial insurance claims. You will collaborate with a team and receive mentorship to enhance your forensic accounting skills or to further develop your existing experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the insured parties and claims adjusters to understand, quantify, and evaluate damage claims (such as business income loss, additional expenses, and inventory losses).
- Assess potential liabilities and establish reserves on claims in line with AIG's reserving guidelines, making timely adjustments as necessary.
- Gather relevant financial and non-financial data and documentation to analyze damage claims, conducting necessary research.
- Compile, assess, and summarize claim submissions and source materials; perform financial data analysis and impact assessments.
- Prepare forensic accounting loss calculations and schedules for review.
- Present findings to management for feedback and approval.
- Maintain regular communication with management and claims adjusters regarding updates and findings.
- Assist in the development and delivery of training programs for other AIG departments.
- A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline from an accredited institution is required.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in forensic accounting and business interruption loss evaluations for property claims is advantageous.
- CPA certification or actively pursuing CPA designation is preferred.
- Demonstrated analytical, critical thinking, investigative, problem-solving, and research capabilities.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential.
- Strong interpersonal abilities, time management, and organizational skills are required.
- Capability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is necessary.
