The Community Outreach Specialist plays a vital role in promoting the benefits of EdFed membership within the local community, while supporting the strategic growth of the business and driving opportunities for new members, loans, and deposit accounts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Represent EdFed in assigned regions of local schools and branches, promoting membership benefits through external events at schools, colleges, associations, and community groups to drive new business.
  • Collaborate with the Member Outreach Director and Manager to maximize brand recognition and drive business development opportunities.
  • Manage schedules to ensure accurate logging of assignments, relationship goals, outbound calls, activities, and events in a contact management solution on a daily basis.
  • Build a database of viable prospects for new sponsor relationships and schedule business development meetings to increase the EdFed field of membership.
  • Participate in festivals, fairs, and trade shows to promote new business for the Credit Union.
  • Assist with new membership and lending applications during field-based events to drive successful achievement of organizational growth objectives.
  • Support the Member Outreach Director and Manager and the Financial Education team in developing the educational curriculum for the High School Branch Program.
  • Assist the Member Outreach Director and Manager in developing member on-boarding strategies and other member engagement initiatives.
  • Travel throughout all regions to provide staffing assistance when necessary.
  • Comfortable speaking in front of small and large groups, including classroom presentations and community events.
  • Weekend, evening hours, and travel may be required.
Requirements:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Positive, dynamic leader with strong ability to build relationships and network.
  • Strong organization, prioritization, analytical, and problem-solving ability.
  • Team player with ability to interact with all levels of staff in the organization.
  • Working knowledge of PC applications, including Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
