Position Overview

The Employment Program Representative (EPR) for the Disabled Veterans' Outreach Program (DVOP) plays a crucial role in assisting veteran clients who encounter significant employment challenges. This position operates under the guidance of the Employment Program Manager I and is integral to the delivery of employment services tailored to the unique needs of veterans.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate self-service and staff-assisted services to help veterans navigate the job market.
  • Promote the array of programs and services provided by the Employment Development Department (EDD) Workforce Services (WS) Branch to various stakeholders, including job seekers and employers.
  • Deliver formal presentations about EDD WS and the benefits of utilizing CalJOBS to veteran audiences, encouraging engagement with America's Job Centers of California.
  • Adhere to the guidelines established under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), Wagner-Peyser Act, and the Jobs for Veterans' State Grants (JVSG) funded initiatives.

Work Environment

This role may involve travel or reassignment to different offices within the Cluster. Ideal candidates will possess strong analytical skills, the ability to coordinate job fairs and events, and a keen attention to detail.

Additional Information

Applicants must be authorized to work in the US without the need for visa sponsorship. The position is situated in a cubicle environment, requiring the use of video conferencing tools.

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify, candidates must be a Qualified Veteran or Eligible Spouse and provide necessary documentation, including a DD214 and any relevant information from the Department of Veterans Affairs regarding service-connected disabilities.
