Key Responsibilities- Develop and Implement IEPs: Create and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with special needs, taking into account their unique learning styles and abilities.
- Provide Tailored Instruction: Provide instruction and support to meet the unique needs of each student, adapting to their learning pace and style.
- Collaborate with Colleagues: Work collaboratively with general education teachers, parents, and support staff to provide comprehensive support to students.
- Assess and Monitor Progress: Regularly assess and monitor student progress, adjusting instruction as needed to ensure students meet their learning goals.
- Maintain Accurate Records: Maintain accurate and detailed records for each student, tracking their progress and identifying areas for improvement.
- Cultivate a Positive Learning Environment: Create a classroom environment that encourages learning, growth, and positive student engagement, promoting a sense of community and respect among students and staff.
- Bachelor's Degree in Special Education: Hold a Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field.
- Valid Teaching License: Possess a valid Illinois teaching license/credentials in Special Education.
- Experience Working with Students with Disabilities: Have experience working with students with disabilities in a classroom setting.
- Strong Communication and Organizational Skills: Demonstrate strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with a team of educators and support staff.
