Position Overview:
As a vital member of our healthcare team, the Pediatric Outpatient Nutrition Specialist plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional nutritional care tailored to children with complex medical needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilitates the nutrition care process to ensure optimal medical nutrition therapy for pediatric patients.
  • Conducts thorough nutrition assessments and accurately documents findings.
  • Identifies and implements effective nutrition interventions, providing quality nutrition education that respects the cultural needs and expectations of families.
  • Monitors and evaluates individual nutrition outcomes, adjusting plans as necessary to meet established goals.
  • Collaborates with healthcare providers to communicate nutrition expertise and enhance patient care.
  • Utilizes resources efficiently to support best practices in nutrition care.
  • Mentors and precepts students in the field of dietetics.
  • Engages in continuous improvement initiatives within the department.
  • Works collaboratively with fellow dietitians to ensure comprehensive care.

Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in dietetics, nutrition, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Successful completion of an approved Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) program.
  • Registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration or eligibility for registration.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.
  • Proficiency in computer applications relevant to the role.
  • Certification as a Dietitian in the state of Utah or the ability to obtain certification within six months of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience as a registered dietitian is advantageous.

Physical Requirements:
The role requires effective communication, the ability to operate computers and equipment, and the capacity to remain seated or standing for extended periods.
