Human Resources Analyst

About the Role:
The Virginia Department of Human Resource Management is seeking a skilled Human Resources Analyst to join our team. As an HR Analyst, you will be responsible for organizing and facilitating our onboarding procedures to create a smooth transition for new hires. This position will also manage processing payroll and maintaining HR data by utilizing various HRIS systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Organize and facilitate onboarding procedures for new hires
- Process payroll and maintain HR data using HRIS systems
- Utilize database software to compile, manage, and report workforce planning and development data
- Analyze data and reach conclusions, which are logical and legally supportable
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships
- Handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately and with discretion
Requirements:
- Considerable knowledge and/or experience with HR principles and practices, Commonwealth of Virginia human resource policies/procedures, and applicable State and Federal laws
- Considerable knowledge of the Commonwealth of Virginia payroll and leave policies and procedures within the Cardinal CAPP Manual and Time, Attendance and Leave Manual
- Extensive knowledge of Cardinal HCM HR, TA, absence management, benefits, and payroll systems
- Strong working knowledge of personal computer operations and working knowledge of Google Suite products and PageUp
- Exceptional organizational skills, ability to meet deadlines, and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced work environment
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with all levels of Science Museum staff
