Bilingual High School College Success Advisor

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Bilingual High School College Success Advisor to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a vital part in guiding students towards their post-secondary goals and empowering them to achieve academic success.

Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive college advising services to high school students, including individual meetings, group workshops, and presentations.
  • Assist students with exploring various post-secondary pathways, such as colleges, universities, vocational schools, and certificate programs.
  • Guide students through the college application process, including completing applications, financial aid forms (FAFSA, TAP), and scholarship applications.
  • Collaborate with school staff, parents, and community partners to create a supportive college-going culture within the high school.
  • Develop and deliver engaging college readiness activities and workshops for students and families.
  • Maintain accurate student records and documentation.
  • Stay informed about current trends in higher education and scholarship opportunities.
Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, School Counseling, or a related field with a Bilingual - Spanish extension.
  • Minimum of three years of experience working with adolescents in an urban setting, providing services that promote educational success and social-emotional well-being.
  • Proven ability to establish strong relationships with students, families, and school staff.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Deep understanding of positive youth development principles and the challenges faced by immigrant and first-generation youth.
  • Strong knowledge of college admissions processes, financial aid programs, and scholarship opportunities.
