Vail Health is seeking a highly skilled Staff Pharmacist to join our team. As a key member of our retail pharmacy team, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the highest level of service to our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Interpret physician orders for medications and prescriptions, preparing and dispensing prescription medications from the retail pharmacy in accordance with all applicable pharmacy laws.
- Evaluate medications for dosage, route, frequency, and interactions, and provide care based upon physical, motor/sensory, psychosocial, and safety that is appropriate to the age of the patient served.
- Counsel patients with the appropriate medication information about the medication prescribed.
- Responsible for inventory control in the pharmacy by maintaining par levels of medications and aiding in prescription pricing strategies.
- In the absence of the Pharmacy Manager, ensure that day-to-day operations of the pharmacy are in compliance with the Colorado State Board of Pharmacy rules and regulations, as well as supervise and coordinate the Pharmacy Technicians' activities and duties.
- Assist the Pharmacy Manager with personnel decisions, including hiring, disciplinary actions, and evaluations.
- Professionally interact with medical and nursing staff to provide quality pharmacy services.
- Assist with budgetary process for the department.
- Two years of previous experience in healthcare required.
- State of Colorado Pharmacist license required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
- Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery Certificate or Adult Immunization Training Program for Pharmacists Certificate preferred.
- Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days, the computer skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
- Must be comfortable with Microsoft Office and pharmaceutical software.
- Must have working knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English.
