Job Summary:
The Title Clerk is a key member of our team at Doherty Automotive Group, responsible for processing titles, verifying costs, and preparing legal transfer documents for the DMV. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Document Preparation: Prepare tax and title documents, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- DMV Submissions: Submit all legal transfer documents to the DMV in a timely and efficient manner.
- Inventory Management: Prepare stock cards for new and used vehicles, ensuring up-to-date inventory information.
- Paperwork Processing: Receive and process paperwork from the F&I department, maintaining accurate records and deadlines.
- Payoff Processing: Prepare payoff checks for new vehicles and trade-ins, ensuring timely payment and accurate calculations.
- Posting and Accounting: Post vehicle sales and purchases, maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Inventory Control: Input inventory control information, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
- Trade-In Processing: Prepare trade-in vehicle jackets, ensuring accurate and complete documentation.
- Name and Address Updates: Ensure that name and address filed are updated on an ongoing basis, maintaining accurate customer records.
Requirements:
- Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as sales agreements, tax and title documents, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, employees, and the general public.
- Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, percentages. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Certificates, Licenses, & Registration: Current, valid, driver's license and satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) are required. Notary required.
