Key Responsibilities

  • As a Senior SAP Basis Engineer, you will be instrumental in the design and deployment of SAP S/4 on SAP RISE.
  • Collaborate with a dedicated team of Senior SAP Basis Engineers and SAP specialists.
  • Oversee daily operations for SAP Basis functions, ensuring accountability for global incident/event/request management.
  • Provide governance for projects, develop project plans, offer project estimates, and make landscape recommendations.
  • Thrive in a dynamic environment while working alongside various project teams, including offshore production support.
  • Implement SAP S/4HANA, BW/4HANA, FIORI, and other SAP systems, including third-party applications.
  • Manage SAP S/4HANA, BW/4HANA, FIORI, and other systems within the HANA Enterprise Cloud (HEC) and RISE frameworks.
  • Engage with SAP HANA 1.0 and 2.0 databases, focusing on multi-tenant database management and designing Auto Failover systems on SUSE Linux servers.
  • Oversee the implementation of SAP Analytics Cloud, ensuring integration with S/4 and BW/4 systems and SAP Cloud applications.
  • Establish System Replication for HDB systems and configure SAP SLT.
  • Monitor SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud (HEC) security using a centralized logging system to trigger immediate alerts.
  • Install and configure SAP BODS, collaborating with BODS developers to support project and production activities.
  • Develop HANA Security around various privileges and ensure robust SAP support for troubleshooting issues.
  • Lead SAP and HANA upgrades across different landscapes and versions.
  • Implement Single Sign-On (SSO) using SAML and SAP Logon tickets through various methods.
  • Utilize SAP Service Marketplace for OSS messages, service requests, and client system registration.
  • Collaborate with SAP RISE and HEC teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or higher degree in Computer Science or Information Systems from an accredited institution or equivalent.
  • 8+ years of experience in SAP BASIS and 4+ years with the latest S/4 HANA releases.
  • Experience in consulting or large-scale IT organizations with at least 5+ multi-country SAP project implementations of high complexity.
  • Completion of 2+ previous SAP S/4 project upgrades with hands-on, in-depth SAP BASIS expertise.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of SAP & SAP HANA on HEC and RISE, with a collaborative approach across project teams.
  • Ability to adapt to flexible working hours based on business needs.
  • Hands-on experience with SAP S/4, BW, Fiori, Solution Manager, SLT, Vertex, Open Text, and BODS.
  • Understanding of SAP application architecture and SAP NetWeaver technology.
  • Familiarity with deployment strategies for SAP GUI and SAP HANA Studio, as well as advanced SAP stacks.
  • Solid grasp of best practices in SAP, including archiving, system copies, and security protocols.
  • Experience in integrating and managing third-party applications for change management processes.
  • Proficient in installing, monitoring, tuning, and troubleshooting SAP applications and HANA databases.
  • Knowledge of protocols and standards for large-scale SAP implementations.
  • Experience in collaborating with SAP support for troubleshooting various issues.
  • Familiarity with Linux operating systems and related infrastructure concepts.
  • Experience in system refresh, client refresh, and using third-party client copy tools.
  • Understanding of SAP HANA technology, including in-memory computing and backup solutions.
  • Knowledge of high-availability and disaster-recovery concepts in SAP technology.
  • Experience in managing SAP applications, including instance administration and performance monitoring.
  • Expertise in SAP security integration and controls.
  • Excellent verbal, presentation, and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to engage with all levels of business and IT.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and a desire to expand knowledge.
  • Demonstrated collaboration and teamwork skills.
  • Strong adherence to IT/SAP project methodologies and change control processes.
  • Experience in S/4 HANA upgrades, including planning and coordination with SAP teams.
  • Experience in BODS system migration from HANA to Sybase.
  • Daily production support, including monitoring, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
  • Support for GRC Access Control in collaboration with the SAP Security team.
