Job Overview

FirstFour Staffing is collaborating with a distinguished organization in search of a Logistics Operations Supervisor to enhance their team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee receiving, storage, and distribution functions by establishing, coordinating, and enforcing operational and personnel policies.
  • Ensure compliance with material handling and shipping standards.
  • Manage inventory levels through regular physical and cycle counts, reconciling discrepancies with the ERP system, and generating reports.
  • Maintain the integrity of warehouse facilities by inspecting equipment and initiating repair orders as necessary.
  • Fulfill operational requirements by scheduling employee shifts and monitoring work outcomes.
  • Recruit, train, and onboard warehouse personnel to maintain a skilled workforce.
  • Evaluate staff performance through coaching and disciplinary actions, while also recognizing achievements.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the warehouse department.
  • Ensure efficient processes for receiving, picking, packing, and shipping operations.
  • Guarantee timely and accurate shipment of products to customers.
  • Promote safe and productive use of equipment in the warehouse, ensuring employees are adequately trained.
  • Maintain proficiency in current software systems for inventory management.
  • Establish performance metrics and provide ongoing feedback to enhance team productivity.
  • Coordinate with various departments, including shipping, receiving, customer service, and sales.
  • Conduct daily team meetings to discuss operational updates, safety protocols, and productivity targets.
  • Address challenges and make informed decisions to optimize service and productivity.
  • Effectively manage time, resources, and personnel in a dynamic environment.
  • Utilize scanning technology to track inventory status.
  • Collaborate with warehouse staff to achieve business objectives.
  • Facilitate domestic and international shipments using various carriers.
  • Develop expertise in freight and shipping regulations.
  • Maintain strong relationships with warehouse staff to ensure smooth operations.
  • Verify that all outbound shipments are properly documented and labeled.
  • Ensure compliance with serial and batch number requirements.
  • Respond promptly to internal inquiries regarding order statuses.
  • Maintain necessary reports and documentation.
  • Coordinate with dispatchers to resolve any logistical issues.
  • Monitor the timely delivery of empty and full containers.
  • Investigate and resolve shipping issues to ensure on-time deliveries.
  • Review shipping documentation to determine priorities and methods.
  • Support sales order requests from internal departments.
  • Explore cost-effective shipping solutions to enhance efficiency.
  • Stay updated on logistics technology advancements to improve processes.
  • Contribute to team success by sharing best practices and fostering collaboration.
  • Manage warehouse operations in alignment with company policies.
  • Engage with management, clients, suppliers, and transport providers.
  • Monitor service quality and gather feedback.
  • Coordinate transportation providers for efficient shipment movement.
  • Continuously track the status of cargo shipments.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Some travel may be required.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Requirements
    • High school diploma or equivalent required; a degree in Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field preferred.
    • Minimum of 4 years' experience in warehousing, distribution, or logistics.
    • Proven experience in warehouse management and supply chain best practices.
    • Hands-on experience with warehouse management software and inventory control.
    • Familiarity with ERP systems.
    • Forklift operation experience preferred; certification required.
    • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office and other software.
