About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Peer Support Specialist to join our team at Resolute Home Care NC. As a Peer Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing support and recovery training to individuals receiving services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide peer support to engage participants in a recovery partnership and assist in identifying participants' hopes and dreams and the solutions they are seeking.
  • Provide coaching to Peer Support staff through role modeling and guidance.
  • Teach recovery and life skills using recovery tools.
  • Model hope, personal responsibility, and self-advocacy to demonstrate how recovery goals can be respectfully met and how a belief in self is maintained.
  • Assist in developing natural supports and community living.
  • Cultivate connectedness in the person's life (self, others, the environment, and to meaning and purpose).
  • Coordinates with the individual's clinical team and other supports to arrange services or resources to help the individual achieve their goals.
  • Completes clinical documentation as required.
Requirements
  • Successful completion of Peer Employment Training thus obtaining Certification as a Peer Support Specialist required.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Lived experience requiring mental health and/or substance use services.
  • Ability to teach/train recovery information and recovery tools.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • One (1) year of full-time behavioral health experience.
  • Additional training in peer-related topics required.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality (HIPAA guidelines and regulations) and professionalism.

Work Environment

May work in an office environment or behavioral health facility. May have contact with individuals who are agitated and/or confused.
