Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Native Community Program Assistant to join our team at Fairbanks Native Association. In this role, you will provide vital support to our department and staff, fostering a positive and inclusive environment for our consumers.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Monitor and maintain the cleanliness of coffee/tea areas, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for all.
  • Complete Pre-Screening Forms as needed, adhering to established protocols.
  • Refer consumers to the appropriate case manager, providing guidance and support when necessary.
  • Track lunch attendance for the Title VI Program, maintaining accurate records.
  • Assist consumers in finding suitable resources, leveraging your knowledge of local services.
  • Oversee grant-required paperwork and follow-up tasks, guaranteeing compliance with regulations.
  • Collect and submit daily consumer sign-in sheets to the department's data specialist, ensuring timely updates.
  • Acknowledge donations using the FNA Receipt of Donation form, showcasing appreciation for community generosity.
  • Maintain office areas organized and clean, promoting a productive work environment.
  • Conduct weekly inventories of socks, gloves, hygiene products, and other personal supplies, informing the Administrative Assistant of program needs.
  • Facilitate logistics related to picking up or delivering extra donations, streamlining processes within the organization.
  • Respond promptly to inquiries and phone calls, embodying excellent customer service.
  • Attend daily Community Service Staff meetings, contributing to collaborative discussions.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required, demonstrating a strong foundation in education.
  • CPR/First Aid certification is essential; obtain it within 30 days of hire if not already possessed.

Working Environment

The physical demands of this role include routine walking, standing, bending, and carrying items, weighing up to 25 pounds. You may work outside and travel locally, exposing yourself to varying weather conditions. Personal Protective Equipment will be provided where necessary.

Estimated Salary: $45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
